I’m guessing this issue has something to do with how Windows is prioritising applications it seems to take away all the resources I’m using and put them into the video game application. If I hit “stop streaming” and kill OBS, then reopen it again with the game still running in the background, then everything runs completely fine. My OBS shows no dropped frames apparently and everything is shown as green and running fine, but the stream just doesn’t run properly. In the Properties window, select Snap Camera from the Device drop down menu. When I say my OBS lags out if I open a game after I go live, I mean my cam drops to about 1fps - everything lags. The three most popular broadcast softwares are OBS Studio, Streamlabs OBS. It’s not just Elden Ring or bigger games like Elden Ring, it’s all sorts of games, even Drawy (which is a TINY Steam game and should never make anything lag out). However, I MUST open Elden Ring before OBS studio or it will lag out. Then under Streaming section, from the right-pane, lower the video Bitrate and click on OK button to save the changes.
